Jones Speaks at the “Igniting the Power Within,” Women’s Conference in Palm Springs, California.

The Inland Valley New is pleased to introduce Upland’s own, Felicia Jones. Ms. Jones story is one of a miraculous journey from sickness to full health and recovery. We are so proud to share her story with you, our readers and friends of the Inland Valley News.

Felicia Jones is a Retired Supervisor of Academic Instruction (Assistant Principal) of the California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation, Division of Juvenile Justice. She served the department for 27 years, 21 of which were devoted to her position as a Trainer of Trainers/High School Teacher/Impact of Crime on Victims Coordinator and Instructor. She is committed to changing the heart and minds of juvenile offenders and healing the hearts of those devastated by crime and violence.

Felicia’s work has been featured on “60 Minutes,” with the late Ed Bradley, “Good Morning America Show,” “America’s Most Wanted,” and most Southern California local television stations. Felicia has received numerous awards and accolades for her work with crime victims and the perpetrators of crime and violence, to name a few; “Doris Tate Award ,“ by former California Governor Pete Wilson, the “Crystal Apple Award,” for Outstanding Teacher in the Southland by KNBC-Channel 4, “Victim Service Award ,” from Los Angeles City Attorney, Rockard Delgadillo, “Victim Service Award.” from Los Angeles City Attorney, James Hahn, “Certificate of Appreciation,” from U.S. Department of Justice, the California State Attorney General’s Office, “Certificate of Appreciation,” from the State Legislature, and a Commendation from the City of Los Angeles. Spanning her career are further accolades; nominations for the “Disney’s American Teacher Award,” in both 2000 and 2002 respectively. In 2003, she was awarded the “Evan Leigh Foster Humanitarian Award,” & “2003 Distinguished Alumni-Humanitarian Award,”

After nine major surgeries, health issues and great sorrow at the loss of several family members, close friends and co-workers, Felicia will let everyone know that if you trust God to fight your battles, He will do exceedingly abundantly more than we can ever imagine.

Felicia has a phenomenal personal testimony like so many others that we talk to, work with and associate with on a daily basis. As a Motivational Speaker, Felicia has purposed that through the storms she will continue to carry out the work God has placed before her. Ms. Jones will not allow life’s challenges to stop her from the doing the utmost to uplift, motivate and inspire others to reach their full potential in life. God has a perfect plan for each of us, sitting down on the job is not an option, and we must be persistent in carrying out the task set before us.

Felicia’s charge is to touch hearts and change minds, to encourage the lost and motivate those who possess the wonders of God’s gifts and callings. “If God tells us in Psalms 138:8, that He will take care of that which concerns us, how can we not take care of that which concerns Him?” states Felicia.

Recently, Felicia was honored to speak on a platform of highly esteemed and anointed women at the, “Igniting the Power Within,” Women’s Conference in Palm Springs, California. The conference was hosted by Dr. Micheline McFarland, Lift Church-Daughters of Divine Destiny. Felicia was on the right panel of Speakers, as speaker after speaker spoke words that empowered and encouraged the women in attendance to move forcefully toward fulfilling their personal destiny. The conference speakers included Motivational Speaker Joyce Esteves of Lifeway Church, Hostess/Creator Dr. Micheline McFarland of Lift Church, Motivational Speaker & Life Coach, Jewel Diamond Taylor, and Motivational Speaker/Poet Felicia Jones of Love Sanctuary Community Church. The Holy Spirit framed the room and much needed healing came forth.

Felicia’s testifies of her victorious journey learning to walk again after a bone transplants in her neck….

Felicia’s theme was, “Grace to Embrace Your Gift(s) and Calling.” She spoke of allowing your heart and mind to stay focused on the Lord, especially when the storms of life are raging. She spoke of almost drowning at age ten and believes that her gifts and calling were stronger than the currents that God refused to let drown her. She gave testimony of all the curveballs of heartache, pain and physical challenges she has suffered, yet refusing to give up, she moves steadily forward doing what God has “assigned” her to do. Felicia spoke of having bone transplants, one of which was essential in blocking her from being paralyzed from the neck down. She brings to the stage, the walker that she used in her journey of learning to walk all over again, after the first bone transplant in her neck. She speaks of two screws that are broken in her neck, screws placed in her neck to hold the newly transplanted bone in place, and although the screws were broken when the doctor went in to do a second bone transplant in her neck, the transplant did a perfect healing, baffling the doctors. She openly testified of other traumatic and sorrowful occurrences that many women in the room could readily identify. Felicia is certain that our trials come to make us strong and they are to be shared in helping others through the rough phases of their personal journey.

Felicia is quoted as saying, “Grace to Embrace Your Gift(s) and Calling,” simply says, God has work for us to do, are we willing to do it in the midst of our storms. In spite of all that we go through, can God trust us to do what He has called us to do, when we want to throw in the towel and give up. In all that I’ve gone through on a personal level, I have every right to sit on the curb of life and give up, but God has brought me through too much to sit this thing called life out.”

Trusting God to lead the way, Felicia has several things petitioned up to heaven. She is seeking to publish a book of poetry, which many admonish her is long, long overdue. She can often be found on the speaking circuit, Felicia will be speaking at the Ontario Airport Hotel at a, “Mother –Daughter: Pray Together-Stay Together Tea,” on Sunday, Sept 17, 2017.

Felicia is definitely on a mission as she moves forward. She is known for composing personal poetry for individuals and personal situations, as expressed by those requesting her poetry.
